An old frame cut out and the opening made good ready for a new one, the unglamorous middle of a renovation that has to be square before anything else can happen.

This is an external doorway with the old frame cut out, the reveal stripped back and the edges squared up ready for the new frame to go in. Getting this stage right is what decides whether the new door closes and whether the plaster line around it looks straight afterwards.
